Wrapping Up the 2024 CSA Season

Wrapping Up the 2024 CSA Season

Another CSA season in the books! Thank you to all of you, our CSA members, for eating your way through the year with us! Spring, with its fresh greens and tulips, seems ages ago now. More recent memory is the summer abundance, particularly berries and cucumbers come to mind. Then fall still lingers firmly in mind with all that HUGE cauliflower! I hope that your bodies were nourished this season from the produce we grow and, whether you are committed to eating seasonally, supporting local agriculture, or whatever your motivation is to committing to our CSA program, I hope you met your personal goals. Please know that your support means everything to us, you literally keep us growing!

I am really looking forward to this winter, especially the time to rest and relax, have fun with my kid, read lots of books, take lots of walks (hopefully some in the snow), and of course plan the 2025 farm season! One of the things I like best about my job is personally aligning with the seasons. As I walk around the farm these days and see frosted, dead plants, crop remains, and witness hardy plants like kales and cabbages tuck into themselves, reserving future growth for when the days are longer and warmer, I too am tucking into my cozy nest and reserving my energy. Like the plants, I have had enough of growing and am tired. Time to rest!

I hope that all of you have some time for rest this winter season. I hope that your last CSA share fuels you for at least a couple weeks. Enjoy this quiet time with people you love, good food, and health.

Happy Winter and Holidays to all!
