Green Beans Almondine

1 lb. Red Dog Green Beans
1 sweet onion
2 Tbs. butter
1/2 cup almonds, sliced
Salt and pepper

Trim the beans, put in a pot and cover with water. Add a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Drain water and set aside. Meanwhile, saute the onion and a pinch of salt in the butter until translucent. Add the sliced almonds and saute for a couple more minutes. Toss the cooked green beans in the onion-almond mixture. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
