Thank You for Your Support This Year!
It always surprises me every year when we make it to the end of another farming season. Where oh where does the time go?! And yet here we are, on the tail of 2021 and our last CSA share of the season.
One of my favorite things about farming has become these wonderful young people I get to meet and work with. Some of them stick around the farm for just four months, and others keep coming back for six years! Eventually they all move on and do some amazing things. This year, I am saying goodbye to some very talented farmers, many of whom are moving on to start their own farms. I couldn’t be more proud! Though I will miss them fiercely.
I just took my first glance through the CSA survey many of you filled out. (Thank you!) It is so humbling to hear from you after growing and harvesting your shares for the past 38 weeks. Your shares are designed in part from the farm’s abundance, but mostly from me putting lots of thought into what you might most like to eat, imagining what meals you could make from each share, and considering what you have gotten (or not gotten) recently. I consider it a very important part of my job to make sure you get balanced and interesting shares every week.
There was so much positive feedback. In particular, over 98% of you said you were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of our produce! That is definitely a record that I am proud to share with the crew. Some favorite quotes I read were, “We are committed to the CSA lifestyle.” And “I particularly liked how much creativity (the CSA) inspired in my cooking.” I can see from many of your responses just how committed you are to supporting local farms and businesses. I feel so blessed to live in this amazing community where people truly care about the success and sustainability of those around us.
If you haven’t yet done so, please take a moment to complete our very short survey (link in separate email). We really appreciate your time to help us continue to improve your CSA experience.
Our Farmstand is open all winter, as are the PT Food Coop and Chimacum Corner Store, where you can find loads of our produce. We’ll be in touch in January with info about our 2022 CSA Program. Thank you for your support this year and I hope that you all have a warm and meaningful wintertime.
